[bomp] New Rock & Roll/News from the left coast

        Hey Ted,

I think the San Francisco Maybellines include a female singer whom we may
have met briefly at the first Las Vegas Grind. I don't think they've got
much more out than a fab cover of the Strangeloves' "no Jive" on the "top
Girl Groups" (spinout) comp or possibly a single, but if Russell's in the
band, they'll probably be a gas!

And speaking of female vocals in garage bands, the new 5678's album,
"Teenage Mojo Workout", is totally frenzied fuzzed-out fun, harkening back
to the wildest of 50's and 60's sounds!!!

Also, the "Introducing the Simian Sounds of the Orangutones" album will
surely heat up your next kegger with floor-filling frat stomping and other
monkey business. These cool cats sport a two saxophone attack and a classic
back cover photo that has Deena totally bemused.

Swingin' Squirrel.
