Though none of these "MTV approved" bands really drives me wild, I'm really glad the Hives & the Stripes are getting some fame. They're good bands. I don't care about the Vines as I see them more as an Indie Rock band than a real rock & roll one. But I'm glad I'm not stuck in the 60s, nostalgia is lame. A band like Le Tigre gives me as much thrill as 90% of the 60s bands I dig (except when they do their disco remixes). It's a good thing so of the bands we can relate to get in the spotlight of the
mainstream. And they're way better than all those MTV punk bands like Offspring that spoil today's teenagers taste.
