It's true that hard work/talent has got nothing to do with success, but I hope you're not implying the Hives are any _less_ hard-working just because they sell right now. They've been playing for years and are dedicated and down-to earth.
Besides, they deserve some credit for bring humour back in rock'n'roll too. In Sweden, self-promotion is considered bad manners - close to a deadly sin - and when they're on stage in Stockholm, proudly promoting: "We may not be the biggest band in Sweden, but we're surely the biggest band in the universe!" that cracks me up big time.
No, they're not "the future of rock'n'roll" (what is?) or "the new XXXX or YYYY (or zzzzzzzzz)", but they're a good rock band with good songs and a sense of humour and I think they'll be remembered.
