The Lounge volume of MusicHound's music guides has been popping up in
bargain bins at most bookstores lately, usually around $4 or so. If you buy
it, you get a neat 24 track sampler of tracks from Capitol's Ultra-Lounge
series. One of the tracks is a Ventures tune (?!?!). Also the usual
suspects: Martin Denny, Nelson Riddle, Peggy Lee, Les Baxter, John Barry,
Dinah Washington, etc.

The book itself if pretty great, too (lots of obscure musicians rate an
entry along with the names) and the writers have a good sense of humor
(William Shatner gets a write-up, and -The Transformed Man- gets both a
5-bone -and- a woof! rating. Depends on your attitude, of course!)
