Actually, it can work to your advantage in other ways as well.  If the 
scanned price and the marked price don't correspond, you're entitled to the 
lower of the two prices, whichever that might be.  It's the law.  Happens to 
me in Compact Disc World all the time.  And it also happens in any store 
where they're a bit lax in removing "sale" tags.

You have to fight for it sometimes but you'll always win.
