Yup, and they didn't let that discourage them. They kept plugging away,
silk-screening t-shirts and flyers and 45 sleeves in their crappy East
village apartment, continuing to play poorly shows but getting the music
out there, making the right connections, making some enemies too and
doing what it took to become one of the major rock bands of the 90s. And
regardless of what you think of their music, I think that's a good thing,
don't
you? I think it's admirable that they were able to go from playing in front
of 5 people on a weeknight to doing arena tours. I'm missing your point
here.

Why is that? Why didn't they deserve the recognition? Once again,
regardless of what you think of Rob or Sean or the rest of the band (and
I'm not saying that Rob is a wonderful person), they worked hard for years
and believed in the band and that's what ultimately brought them into the
view of the Beavis producers and gained them further recognition. Is there
something wrong with becoming successful? Do only bands that you like
or are friends with deserve greater recognition? If your reply is, "Yeah,
well
White Zombie suck", okay. But that's a matter of personal taste, no? I'm
not saying White Zombie was a great musical act, but I think some of their
songs are catchy and by looking at their cds, you could tell they cared
about the stuff they were putting out. If nothing else, their cds were a
great
visual product, with thick cd booklets full of art and photos, pic discs,
etc. I
think they succeeded in giving their fans some fun and worthwhile
releases. And brigning this back to a Bomp-worthy topic, I enjoyed Rob's
Zombie-A-Go-Go releases too. Once again, you could tell that he wanted
to release fun cds, where you got a bit more for your money, as the
Bomboras and Ghastly Ones cd packages are quite cool, in my opinion.

On the subject of White Zombie, has anybody heard the Rock City Morgue
cd-ep yet? As the band features Sean Yseult (I dug her Famous Monsters
releases) and Rik Slave (of Swamp Goblins and Kretins fame) I was
expecting to totally dig it but, I dunno, it was a bit too flashy rawk for my

tastes. Still, I'm looking forward to seeing them live next time they play up

in the NY/NJ-area.

Happy New Year everyone.
