Oh, I dunno...
The Jam, The Ramones, The Dead Boys, The Heartbreakers, The Undertones, The
Rezillos, Radio Birdman, The Flamin' Groovies, The Boys, The Rubber City
Rebels, The Buzzcocks, etc., etc., etc.....
"Better than mainstream" is not saying much, and it's no justification for
ANY band. There is good music in ANY time period, and it is my opinion that
if you were to compare the Clash to any of the above groups, they wouldn't
stack up.
