[bomp] Syndicate Of Sound a.o. (i.m.o.)
Stephen Molly lookin' back at the Syndicate Of Sound:

To each his own, I guess...not familiar with latter-day Kenny & the Kasuals,
but late Mouse & the Traps ("Wicker Wine," which I think was from 1970) is
great hard-rock in the Black Pearl/Blue Cheer vein...garage-rock obviously
wasn't the point.
As for the Syndicate Of Sound...again, no accounting for taste, but for me
"Brown Paper Bag" has a great jangly guitar-riff and a poetic chorus that
caps it all off: "No one knows but/Everybody sees/A bottle in drag/In a brown
paper bag." Sounds like the Sir Douglas Quintet with cleaner production.
