[bomp] Rocket Science in London
At the Dirty Water Club this week:
ROCKET SCIENCE - <http://www.rocketsciencerock.com> - In one London
magazine this week it says that Rocket Science are "part of the much hyped
Antipodean rock takeover"... Well, certain other Australian bands have been
hyped way more than these guys. Whatever, they're better than any of the
others for sure. Oops, am I guilty of hyping them? Doesn't matter. Full-on
garage rock craziness mixed in with more groov-laden pop sounds but with
more intelligence than most - they put on an intense, no holds barred live
show. They played a great gig a couple of months ago at the Underworld in
Camden Town following a support slot touring with Supergrass and their
return to the UK is in support of their new album on the Eat Sleep label
<http://eatsleeprecords.com>, "Contact High".
Also:
VERY APE - <http://www.veryape.com> - Heavy riffing garage rockers from
Stockholm, Sweden, whose new album "Kosher Boogie" has just been released
on the US label, Alive/Total Energy.
The Dirty Water Club is at The Boston, 178 Junction Road, London N19 -
directly opposite Tufnell Park underground station.
Friday 8th August, doors open at 8:30pm and the party keeps on going
through to 3:00am.
