Re: [bomp] Re: Tribute Albums

Speaking of the Shadows, instro tribs to the Ventures (Swingin' Creeper) and
Booker T and the MG's (Chinese Checkers) are both pretty solid, with the
former featuring sounds truer to the originalls.

We just got back from Spiderman 2. It's great...well worth *seeing*. But
we still were hoping to hear the Ramones brilliant version that I think
showed up on the "Saturday Morning Cartoons" trib. Alas, that was not to
be.

And since reading about the Bobby Fuller trib, I tracked down mine and it
apparently bears no resemblance to the one mentioned earlier with Marshall
Crenshaw and Richard Barone. Mine features northwest acts like the Surf
Trio, and Wicked Ones as well as Canadian bands like the Zamboni Drivers and
Rink Rats. Not bad...perhaps a bit of Can Con for our next radio show.

Happy Canada Day!

Squirrely.
