(Supporting Troy & the Step Sisters at the Ding Dong are Brooklyn's own The
Stags. This is a sort of theme night -- Both bands are led by handsome devils
fronting a hot all-girl group. We thought about calling it: Dicks with
Chicks, then Boys in Babeland, and Boys n Babes or Beauties and Beasts... but
like I said... two handsome devil frontmen. So - we're just calling it rock n
roll. The Stags honed their craft after years of heavy listening to the NY
Dolls, the Stooges and the Sonics. That ought to rock you.)

SO WHAT ABOUT TROY GREGORY?
Troy Gregory is the lead singer of the critically acclaimed Detroit rock
supergroup, The Witches. He also plays bass for The Dirtbombs and plays cello
and violin on their newest album, "Dangerous Magical Noise." Troy's diverse
resume includes work with Killing Joke, The Electric Six, The Swans, The
Volebeats, Prong, Denise James, Damo Suzuki, Wasted Youth and Simon Bonney.
Before joining the Dirtbombs on their summer tour, Troy is performing in
support of his solo albums. His first, "Sybil" features him fronting 13
different Detroit groups including Bantam Rooster, Outrageous Cherry, The
Sights and Larval. On his latest album, "Laura," Troy plays all of the
instruments himself.
Performing with him in concert is his lovely back-up group The Step Sisters.
The Step Sisters feature three talented ladies- Noelle Christine (French pop
chanteuse and former drummer for Outrageous Cherry)...Mary Alice (avant garde
diva formerly of Larval and the Witches) ...and Teri Lynn (who has moonlighted
in a plethora of Detroit noise, punk and pop groups). Like all of his musical
endeavors, the sound of Troy Gregory and the Step Sisters is unique, urgent,
original and out of this world.
