Re: [bomp] Gun Club
And of course Ward went from lead guitarist to lead singer. LG & PB seem to me to fit together more than either does with GC though. What is the Christian song on *SSFTK*?
And the Flamin' Groovies ranged pretty far themselves now that I think of it [since Bryan mentioned my email name], from *Teenage Head* to *Jumpin' in the Night.*

I hate to differ with ya, Mr. JumpingInTheNight, but
I don't think you can really compare the Liquor Giants
and the Pontiac Brothers -- the only thing that connects
them is Dotson, of course (a friend of mine, and I'm
sure he'd agree). Musically, pretty different, wouldn't
you say? Ward's songwriting for the Liquor Giants is
much much better than the Pontiac Brothers, who were
always sloppy drunk and havin' fun, covering songs by
the Stones, Dylan (not to mention songs like "Jamie's
Cryin'" by Van Halen), while Dotson took the Liquor
Giants to a whole new level, pulling in all kinds of pop
influences, esp. the Kinks. Anyway, I love 'em both...
I just wouldn't consider them a follow-up band...
