[bomp] Radio Rumpus Room playlist, 7/30/04

Folks,

Stuff getting first spins this week includes the very fine V/A comps "Girls With Guitars" on Ace and "Rockin' Orbit," a second outer space-themed collection on Buffalo Bop. We're really enjoying "The Libertine Philosophy Of The Barbary Coasters," which has a strong female vocalist fronting a couple members of the Saturn V (on Hillsdale), as well as the latest disc from the Meat Purveyors ("Pain By Numbers," on Bloodshot).

For 10 years now, Radio Rumpus Room has been broadcast Fridays at 9-10:30 p.m. on KFAI Fresh Air Radio, FM 90.3 Minneapolis and 106.7 St. Paul. The show streams live on the Internet, and as always, our two most recent shows are archived in their entirety in RealAudio. Just visit the RRR web page anytime to listen to this noise and accompanying yakkin' by Ron and Jean.

IT'S A SURF STOMP SATURDAY NIGHT WITH RADIO RUMPUS ROOM AND BIG SURF
If you're in the Twin Cities be sure to stop by the Hexagon Bar in Minneapolis this Saturday around 9 p.m. It's a Surf Stomp Saturday night as Ron and Jean of the Radio Rumpus Room will be spinning surf and hot rod tunes before Big Surf hits the stage (and during their set breaks). Big Surf's album "Action Heroes" garnered four stars on the Reverb Central web site, and we're excited to share the bill with them. The Hexagon Bar is located at E. 26th St. and 27th Ave. S., Minneapolis.
