[bomp] "Baja" and others?

What's the LA-to-NYC translation of that? You liked the engineering?

Yes. Dave Hassinger was god, did the first "Eight Miles High," did
"Satisfaction," did "Paint it Black," did "I Had Too Much to Dream Last Night," if Bomp
magazine had followed up their Jack Nitzsche story, the article about
Hassinger could have been called THE ENGINEER AS SUPERMAN. He worked at RCA Music
Center of the World, on Sunset, across from the Cineramadome and where Amoeba is
now. That was the best studio in Hollywood for equipment, and Deke Dickerson
may be the best person to explain the details of that... he 'splained the
gear to me one time, pretty incredible. Of course, with Deke, we were talking
about how cool "Baja" by the Astronauts sounds, which of course was also
recorded there, though I can't recall if Hassinger was the engineer on that or not.
