Hell, I think ALL those Bad News Bears movies were pretty funny! A hell of  a 
lot better than the teevee show...
 
I haven't seen any of them in a long time, so my memory is fuzzy as far as  
what scene went where, but I think THE BAD NEWS BEARS GO TO JAPAN was probably  
the funniest...I seem to recall some scene where they bring some guy out to  
sing a "national anthem"(???) or something before a big game, and his voice  
is unusally gruff and offkey...and on top of that, the PA is turned up to  
earsplitting Frampton-Comes-Alive levels...and he's singing ACAPELLA...at eleven  
years old I thought this was a new high in humor.
 
That movie also had a (short-lived) catchphrase: "You gonh get it NOW,  
sucka!!!" The TV promos for the movie all ended with this pint-sized black  kid in 
a wrestling ring, about to jump off the ropes, looking dead in the  camera, 
angrily saying those six words I quoted up above. This ad ran like  clockwork in 
the summer of '78. Sure enough, when I finally saw it at the  theater, as 
soon as that kid said THAT phrase, it was all over but the shouting  - I thought 
the entire cineplex was going to riot, the cheering was so loud. The  movie 
producers must have been trying to make that line to be another "Feel  lucky, 
punk?" or "You talkin' to me?," because the kid said it AGAIN - in a  fight 
scene, in the MIDDLE of it - and everybody laughed again, although  more out of 
derision than admiration. Too bad that line didn't catch on.
 
Hell, SKIP the previous two BNB flicks, I wanna see ...GO TO JAPAN!
