[bomp] in London to work on the SMILE doc last February...
Before you come over the next time,
take a look at http://www.dirtywaterclub.com where
you'll find details of what's on and a map and other
stuff.

Yeh, that's what I'll do. TIME OUT blew it the week I was there. My
Sanctuary book SMILE: SONG BY SONG comes out in March, and I'm hoping to go over
there for promotional purposes around that time. I saved the magazine that
mentioned your club, and when I dig it out, I'll photocopy the page and send it to
you. I'll let you know on the BOMP list when I find the sucker, it'll be a
while, though, it's kind of in my souvineers, boxed away. It was kind of a
trendy fashion mag thing.
I had a blast there, by the way, knew the names of most locales because of
bootlegs, which cracked me up. That actually helped me to get around. I kept
thinking "at Earl's Court" and everything/everyplace else. Mostly from
Who/Rolling Stones/Jethro Tull bootleg titles. Did go to the Metro club on the BLOW
UP night, and saw Sharon Tandy at the 100 Club, plus Brian Wilson performing
SMILE at Royal Festival Hall two nights. Did a reading with Paul Gorman over
at Filthy McNasty's on Sunday night. Hung out for over an hour in the
Marleybone station (sic?) with the United Artists A HARD DAYS NIGHT and the Parlophone
A HARD DAYS NIGHT album playing over and over in my headphones. We Americans
have to do that sort of thing first time over. Probably my favorite movie of
all time.
