Nice generalization... but I really dug Sabbath and Zep much more than Bowie
and the Who in the 70's (not to mention Kiss, BOC, UFO and Judas Priest).
Didn't stop me from discovering and embracing the punk sound of the Ramones
or the power pop bands as the decade closed.  I will admit however that
those punk, power pop and Nuggets sounds taught me loads about economy over
excess when it comes to guitar-driven rock & roll.
