I grew up on the Red covered copy, found it in a local library when I was
about 14. It along with my elder brothers stack of early 80s NMEs etc
certainly helped me when it came to scoring stuff from my local 2nd hand
record shop. I later got into the US FAnzines like Forcedexposure, Punkture
etc etc which helped no end in picking up the even more obscure releases I
wouldn't have recognised otherwise. I bought a copy of the Red Cover RSRG a
couple of years back, now that I know a lot moreabout music I can see where
it's seriously flawed. Still interesting to have though, as was the blue
covered one even if it did give great dirty zilches to all the records by Big
Black amongst others(red was similar to Sabbaf). Like the Christgau lps of the
70s too, though I think he is as likely to be wrong. (&Sonic Youth killed him
with their big fucken dick a long time back too0 Stevo
