[bomp] Re: bomp-digest V2003 #952

Beggar's Banquet was at Beach and Ball, solidly in Anaheim. The Tower on Beach north of Lincoln is right on the edge of Buena Park (Knott's and the Retail Clerks are right nearby) but it's actually in Anaheim.

Uh, was this considered Buena Park? I remember the store being
on Beach Blvd., around Lincoln, which I believe is Anaheim or
maybe even Stanton...same store? Anyway, a friend of mine for
awhile -- Jim Washburn -- used to run the store. They sold bootlegs
until they were busted by Bruce Springsteen's management...I think
that was the story anyway. Washburn ended up being a music critic
and a great writer (IMO) for the Orange County Register (until he
was fired for making fun of someone...Stevie Nicks maybe?) and
then he moved over to the OC edition of the L.A. Times. Really
cool guy...
