I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume
they can play quite well by now. 

Well, that's not a good thing to assume, because those of us exposed to the 
San Diego scene know that after some 15 years, Manual Scan never seemed to get 
the "better" we all hoped they would (Bart Mendoza is a fun guy to talk to) 
after lots of time, and lots of gigs.
