regionalism was suppressed in the name of efficiency
was among the most polarized in the whole country. 

I really, truly think that NO ONE SHOULD CATER TO THE MIDWEST.  Seriously, 
I'd like to throttle any program director who does that.  When I lived in Omaha, 
the most common phrase I'd hear from just about everyone I talked to was... 
"Well, no one would want that out here"... but the funny thing is, EVERYBODY 
SAID THAT, so guess what?  Most people I met there are aware that their DENIED 
ACCESS.  I think the joke was "Well, one good thing about livin' in Omaha, if 
the end of the world happens, it won't happen until ten years later here".

Kind of like the old Russian joke about the Pravda; "I think I have an eye 
and ear problem, because I keep seeing and hearing different things".

Human beings are not stupid... only programmed to stupidity.
