[bomp] have to pull rank here, w/ apologies for sounding like an ass
By their own accounts, they didn't like
their own initial attempt at the song...They didn't like the tempo and
drumbeat
they were giving it, and they didn't like the instrument choices they were
using...the
RIGHT, and because they hooked up with brilliant L.A. people like Jack
Nitzsche (who used Billy Strange for fuzztone on Spector's "Zip Ah Dee Doo Dah"
because he knew about Strange's fuzztone on Ann Margret's "I Just Don't
Understand) and Dave Hassinger, "Satisfaction" became the shot heard 'round the world,
therefore creating a reason for NUGGETS, BOULDERS, PEBBLES etc. to exist.
Listen, I just sat down with Andrew Loog Oldham on Art Fein's Poker Party for
two episodes, and we went through the whole thing.
