Boy, I saw Link a few years ago in Worcester at The
Lucky Dog, and the show was GREAT. Yes, he brought
his wife onstage, no she didn't detract from my
enjoyment really at all (hell, seems a pretty
reasonable concession for lettin' her hubby keep
touring, haha)... The back up band was two young guys
on bass and drums who had a ton of energy and
enthusiasm, could play like hell, and seemed to having
the time of their lives. Reminded me of Ronnie
Dawson's consistent showcasing of hot young talent;
talk about the opportunity of a lifetime...
Don't remember the set-list (yeah, there may have been
two performances of "Rumble," but fer chrissakes, it's
"RUMBLE." Played by LINK!!! I wasn't complainin',
and neither was Betsy, Monoman, or Capt. PJ, all of
whom were equally as blown away as I was. So I'm glad
to have seen a good night; even if he's slowing down
nowadays, I'd go again in a heartbeat, just to see him
alive and axe in hand.
Lenny
