RE: [bomp] was Garage/Soul now Fortune Teller Cover

Hi Dinos,
Yes there are other recordings, however finding them would be the hard bit.
"The Stellas live at the Kaskade club" (Cologne) "The Stellas (or Tony G Ford
and The Stellas...the name we would play live as) at the Top-Ten club" (Hamburg)
both of those were Lps.
There was also an Lp recording for Hamburg radio which was supposed to get
pressed but i don't know if it was or not. Most of our work was covers of
soul, pop, rock and blues, but the real irony was the recording of Wooly Bully, also in
Frankfurt. We were given a white DEMO recording to learn in early to mid 1965
at the CBS studio. Since we didn't like the song too much ( I personally
didn't even know what the lyrics were about at the time) we got to pick the B-side
"Fortune Teller". What we were told was that Wooly Bully would be released in
the UK and America etc by an American Band (no name given) and that The
Stellas version was for German release. In those days it was quite common to use
demo discs made by session or in-house musicians,so we had no idea where the
demo or the song came from,or even if it was Sam the Shams recording. So there
you have it, both recordings were simultaneous releases and although it was
Sam's song!!(the composer) you can't really say that The Stellas record was a
cover, although as they say the rest is history....as you make it,

PS, i have a page for The Stellas on my site, www.aftershock-the-band.com
if you would like to visit all the best,Mike.
