How to explain the stall on the 20 year window for 2 decades?
That's kind of easy... after 20 years, the Pop of an era is no longer
ubiquitous... but in the decade following, you still see too many traces of the
previous decade.
The Mullet thing is a good example of this.
It's also the reason why late '70s "Mods" in England seemed to hate mid-'60s
Carnaby Street colour... it was still too "close" for them.
