Kane was 1941.
Anyone remember the first 'Happy Days' show in the 70s? It was a variety program that focused on the big band era with people sporting fashions from that time and spouting off sayings from the 30s. And then there was the movie 'That's Entertainment' a blatant nod to the lush 30s dance productions (though it may've been the late 30s and some 40s).
