Of all places, Wal-Mart has tons of noir film on DVD in their bargain DVDs.
They're $3.98 here (Toronto) but I saw them for cheaper when I was visiting
my parents in Nashville. Ones we've found are "Detour", "DOA", "Quicksand",
"Kansas City Confidential", "The Man With The Golden Arm" and "Hatful Of
Rain" (I know that neither are technically noir but they're great finds)
"Suddenly" and my fave of all time "The Devil Thumbs A Ride". We also
grabbed "Dr. Blood's Coffin" and "Maniac"- a totally flipped out film from
1934 by Dwain Esper (who produced "Freaks" and made a bunch of exploitation
and sexploitation films in the 30s and 40s). Phyllis Diller is in it as
well! I think these movies must be cheap for these low budget companies to
release
Picked up a great Anthony mann double disc , "T-men" and "Raw Deal", worth
picking up...
