[bomp] HOT FUDGE HOLY MOLEY!!!
Yes, I remember HOT FUDGE too!!! Nice to see someone put out CD's of songs
from the show, but I'd be more up for some HOT FUDGE DVD's!! The below posts
say it all, although there was also "Name That Feeling" (the TV game-show
takeoff) and the Kaz (unbelievably corny Fonz takeoff).
The lead singer of the Electric Fuzz was named "Elton Seymour."
And, here's some mildly garagey content: the other male human on the show,
Ron Coden, recorded for the Hideout label at some point (although he was a
folk singer - I don't think he wasn't doing garage rock, or was he?). The show
was based in Detroit, and there were a lot of regional references on the
earliest episodes (before the syndication kicked in).

Holy shit...somebody else that remembers "Hot Fudge". What a flipped out
show. I just ordered a couple of CDs called "Hot Fudge: The Electric Fuzz,
Rock 'N Roll From The Hot Fudge T.V. Show" and "Hot Fudge: Hooray For
Friendship & 9 Other Hits From The Hot Fudge T.V. Show" that I saw in a
catalog at the CD store down the street from my house. They were released in
1996!! There were 2 or 3 other CDs of songs from the show. The guy looked at
me like I was an idiot. I don't think they got "Hot Fudge" in Canada. Amazon
has them for sale as well.
Do you remember Glenn Denver, the John Denver-ish country singing puppet?
There's even a "Glenn Denver Sings Country Songs From The Hot Fudge T.V.
Show" CD...
Larry Santos, the human star of the show, had a top 40 hit in '75 or so with
"We Can't Hide It Anymore?"...He was also in Dandelion Wine and some vocal
groups going back to the late 50s (like The Tones). I never even knew it was
the same guy until about a year ago when I saw a picture of him on some ad
for a TV record of 70s hits. All I could think of was that green,
tree-dwelling thing that he had the heart-to-hearts with named Seymour...
"Uhhh YEAHHHH!!! Hot Fudge, Holey Moley, what's going on? Hot Fudge, Holey
Moley, gonna have some fun!"
