For KC of KC and the Sunshine Band,  during a concert is definitely not the 
way he likes it. Uh huh, uh huh.
KC, whose real name is Wayne Casey, took a headfirst fall off a 6-foot-high 
stage while performing Saturday at the Cinco de Mayo Festival in Phoenix. 
The 54-year-old singer suffered a sprained knee and a cut over his right eye 
that needed six stitches.
The band was two songs into its set when Casey took the tumble, just as 
''Boogie Shoes'' was beginning.
''I left my shoes at the hotel and had to perform in a new pair,'' Casey, 
who is recovering at his Miami home, said in a statement Monday. ''I picked 
the wrong pair of Boogie Shoes!''
Casey nevertheless resumed his performance and went to a local hospital 
afterward.
KC and the Sunshine Band's '70s disco hits include ''(That's the Way) I Like 
It,'' ''Get Down Tonight'' and ''(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty.''
They will continue with shows in Winter Haven, Fla., on Friday and in 
Atlanta on Saturday.
