[bomp] RE: the future of the bomp list...?

ok, i see what you mean now.

well, i would hate to see the list totally gone, but if it's causing suzy and
bomp stress and hassle, maybe the time HAS come for the list to go. it's
certainly true that there has been some real ugliness on here from time to
time. on the other side of the coin, though, as a long-time bomplister, i'd
like to point out that an awful lot of friendships have come out of this list,
in addition to a greater awareness and appreciation of the music we all love so
much. yeah, there's been negativity over the years, but what listserv HASN'T
seen its share of flaming and negativity?? whenever people talk about how
negative the list has gotten, i always think back to 9/11 and the aftermath,
when i really feel i got to know so many of you as real people. this list, and
the people i met through it, really helped me through that particular tough
time and quite a few others.

but as i was saying before, if this thing has become an albatross around suzy's
(and bomp's) neck, i say it's time to give it a rest. it seems like the least
we can all do. i for one don't want to be a part of something that giving her,
the shaw family, or bomp any trouble whatsoever.
