Re: [bomp] a bad first impression but a good band?

Do the intials FDJ mean anything to you? Like a lot of their recordings but I am not going anywhere near their gigs.
I hated the Oblivians and that Compulsive Gamblers track we heard last night tore me down in a good way.
The all time cryin' shame was the time NRBQ were on that Nightmusic show & were awful.

I don't know anything about this particular band, but in my experience,
there have been a number of bands that I saw that either got better or worse
(or better then worse) after I had seen them the first time. Often, it's
because the band has had time to become better performers or players.
Sometimes, it's because their songs have gotten better. And sometimes, bands
do have a bad night.

What's the worst first impression you ever got of a band that turned out to
be wrong? My worst may be the Fleshtones, who I thought were *really*
boring the first time I saw them. Turns out they were just havign a bad
night.
