[bomp] Benefit to Aid those Dispossessed by Hurricane Katrina
Hi all,
BENEFIT: This Monday, September 5, we're throwing a benefit party at the Ding
Dong Lounge to raise $$ to aid members of the rock and roll community who have
been dispossessed by hurricane Katrina. DJ's will rotate all day and night,
playing their best 5-7 song sets - in a bit of a competition. Bring your
records!! Everyone gets a chance to spin and people can pay $1 for DJ
requests. We will also be raising funds via a bake sale (e-mail Theresa (at)
kereakes.com to sign up to bring baked goods or food), a record swap/rock and
roll garage sale and a raffle. (e-mail me at innuendos1 (at) hotmail.com to
sign up to donate records and stuff to sell or to bring raffle items. You can
also call me at 973-509-4554 for more information) We hope to raise some money
and have some fun, too!
I'm still working on a benefit at Magnetic Fields in Brooklyn to take place
next week with the A-Bones headlining - details to come later.
Reminder: If you know names and contact info for folks from the rock and roll
community who are in need and not in contact with Eric and Zac at Goner
Records in Memphis, please e-mail them to me so that I may make sure they can
get help from this fund! Thanks!
You can also send contributions directly to:
