As has been previously mentioned, this is one of the great mysteries of the
record world. There has been some talk that it could be The Mark IV, but
nothing has been confirmed. One Brit guy I met at a record show said he had
also heard that it could have been the Mark IV but he kind of doubted it. He
seemed to remember hearing that it was an unrecorded band that was playing
in some club and someone involved in the film liked it and had them cut it
for the film. He also said that he really had no idea and that everybody had
a story.
There is a soundtrack, we own it, and it ain't on there.
