I'm glad someone said The Ugly Beats, I'm much too biased to say it first, but I'll gladly agree with it.
 
Also somewhat biased by personal friendship, but Los Manganzoides from Lima, Peru have several very noteworthy releases.  Of these, "Sobredosis de Horror" is the place to start, if you haven't heard 'em.  I think (hope) I spelled the spanish stuff correctly....
 
I saw The Preists at sxsw last March and they put on a hell of a show too.  And I don't even know any of them.
