[bomp] PICKWICK RULES/Aches 'N' Pains
<<LET'S NOT FORGET THE FUCKING INCREDIBLE "KINGS ROAD" ON PICKWICK
L.P....
ANY GROUP ON A BUDGET LABLE THT COVERED "HEY JUDE" OR "GET BACK"
WAS SOOOOO FAR AHEAD OF THE CURVE...
OH I FORGOT...THEY ALSO DO A BETTER VERSION OF "REVOLUTION" THAN THE
FUCKING
MOP-TOPS...OUCH!>>
That's me off in the corner rooting for Soul Mann & the Brothers, whose
lone Pickwick album consisted of songs from the movie SHAFT. I wouldn't
recommend it over Isaac Hayes, but I damn sure wouldn't let it go!

<<Ha ha, I've got that one! :> From a "three for a dollar" box of 45s
about
five years ago...Probably the last time I played it, too.>>
<<"No Other Like Your Mother" is indeed a stinker! Quite a come down
from "Heart So Cold," which they'd recorded the year before
under
their real name, The Thunderbolts.>>
I've never heard this song, but when I saw it was produced by Hugo &
Luigi, my expectations remained low...with the exception of Sam Cooke,
just about everything that duo touched turned to homemade shit!
