RE: [bomp] Re: Fuzz favorites
I listened to "I'm A People" and "Love Bug" last night, and they don't have fuzz; it's what I thought, a 6-string bass with a lot of reverb tossed on. Yep, like Duane Eddy was there, but a much messier production job.
Some of the Del Reeves hits like "Girl on A Billboard" and "The Southern Belles of Southern Bell" make an effective use of the 6-string bass *attack* as well. That sound means the "60s" to me as much as a fuzz guitar does.
Just sayin.
Matt

Yeah, "I'm a People" --it's like Duane Eddy's bass strings walked into the session!
