Re: [bomp] Bomp is still cool, but I think MySpace is taking over

I think myspace is killing whatever originality used to go into individual band websites. I've never "discussed" anything on myspace, so I don't see where it replaces a forum like the Bomplist.

I'd hafta' agree with whoever said that participation dropped off sharply after we lost Greg Shaw. There were many, many flame wars and other shit-storms prior to that, and none of them created a lull like we're seeing now.

Personally, I like to think we honor Greg Shaw by keeping a list like this going. I can understand how some folks might see it differently.

Greetings,

I remembered when I first entered the Bomp List in 1999. It used to be a
very busy list. In the last year, I noticed that the traffic slowed down
drastically. Has anyone else noticed? What's happening here? Does it have to do
with MySpace.Com? I spend most of my internet time on MySpace.Com now, and
I think some of you do as well. It is just a thought crossing my mind right
now.

Cheers,
