while the crank in question was certainly the biggest douche i have had the
misfortune to encounter in almost 10 years online, i definitely don't think he
had all that much to do with the decline of the list. a quick scroll thorugh
the archives shows that the list remained nearly as busy in 2003 as in 2002. it
didn't really begin to drop off until mid-2004. at least i didn't really notice
it until then.
i definitely had a blase attitude about the fate of this list at that time. i
figured everybody from the bomp list would more or less reconvene elsewhere.
& that did happen with BLR, but there's just not enough talk about MUSIC over
there. i really miss the old bomp list - i got turned to so much stuff i would
never have heard, just because of this list. that's never happened for me with
any other list.
