Re: [bomp] Re: The Decline(?) Of The Bomp List
back to music and connections and near greatness
I'm no fan of rhinoceros; they strain too hard to reach the not to high
heights that they do periodically reach; I think it's slight;ly pretentious
as well: cashing in, maybe? well, I certainly have never quarreled with
their chops; if they are unsteady, not driven by the devil or her blue
dress, then that's cool--it's a lot better than fucking cactus. my point?
since when do I have to make a fucking point???
I'm working on David ackles (CPR, get it?) and I knew the first album was
peopled by rhinocerians, DUH!, and I knew the talented Hastings on guitar
was in Buff Spring (hubba hubba) for a cup of coffee (and glimpsed at
Monterey pop fest), but I was so taken by the drumming (John Keliehor) that
I figgered no way they (Elektra) jes picked him up on sunset blvd coz of his
pecs and shore nuff he had been in daily flash, a band you all know, but one
I finally listened to a few weeks ago courtesy of someone on this list whose
name rhymes with Yob Granigin. And dig this but flash rules, and ackles is
great, and Dom is pretty knowledgeable, and this list should exist if for
only the simple reason that: it connects.
and any band (Rob's pitchfork link) that sounds like Erasure AND can't sing
is prob a comedy record, like the tube bar or shut up you little bastard
records...
peace out sistahs...
