Re: [bomp] Re: Decline Of The Bomp List
Hey I'd be up for that ... I miss the Dead Flowers site ... I'd had
thoughts of starting something up like it myself a couple years ago when Lee
stopped doing it, but my html skills really aren't all that great, so I never got
beyond doing the graphics work, but yes I'd be all for contributing to it ...
as for what I've been up to otherwise ... I've pretty much been lurking
here and on Refugees and Shindig ... I still do graphics work and also dance
and model ( which pays way better than the graphics jobs ) tho' now I'm
drivin' to " gigs " in a 2005 Mustang GT, which came with a 6 CD changer, and I had
my 10 CD Sony changer installed so I can cruise with 16 discs which is
definately kinda neat, so I pretty much load 'em up with a new pile every week, so
here's what was blastin' in the car over this past weekend ...
4 CDrs that make up my own version of Rhino's " Children of Nuggets " ...
Maharajas - A Third Opinion
Otis Rush - Live at Wise Fools Pub in Chicago
CDr of faves from the first two Modern Lovers LPs and some singles and stuff
CDr of Flamin Groovies faves from Flamingo, Teenage Head, Superneakers
a CDr of faves from the new remastered versions of ZZ Top " Tres Hombres " and
" Fandango " which thankfully are really from the masters so they don't
have all that
cruddy drum machine and sequencer stuff that Billy added when the first 6
ZZ Top
albums were originally made into CDs ... hopefully they'll crank out the
first LP and " Rio
Grande Mud " sometime soon ...
in keeping with the ZZ Top " theme " ... a CDr of the Moving Sidewalks LP,
singles and the
first ZZ single, which sounds way more like the Sidewalks than the Top ...
more 60's fuzzy psych mayhem ... a CDr of heavy sounding 60's " psych "...
Damnation of
Adam Blessing, Banchee, Frijid Pink, Listening, Wilkinson Tri Cycle and
similar noisemakers
2 CDrs of UK Powerpop faves ... stuff like Undertones, Records, Chicanes,
Direct Hits etc
a CDr of Shop Assistants and Flatmates faves
a CDr of Nikki Sudden " Treasure Island " and " Red Brocade "
a CDr of Brian Auger & Trinity and Julie Driscoll stuff I dig
well there's my " what I've been doin' while lurkin' " stuff ... moreen
