Re: [bomp] Zal Yanovsky's guitar
Modeling Amp? c'mon, you're kidding aren't you? One of the local guitar slinger
dudes was over recording once. He had an AC30 which was sounding pretty good.
He then said, I got this Pod I want to use instead. We listened to him struggle
for an hour to try to get a sound, and he never did. We made him plug back into
the Vox.
I had to record a guy with a Pod amp and guitar. You know how annoying that
sounded, and he is a pretty good player.
Me, I'm an SG guy. I'm pretty happy with the 62, 65, and 68. Gimmie some P90's
and I'll be ok. Got a few old Danos too. On the amp side, it's all tubes except
for the Roland that I got cheap. Actually, I got all the stuff cheap. A '58
Champ in very clean condition... $60! Came from the above mentioned guitar
slinger. He never had the sense to come to me when he needed rent money, so he
used to sell stuff off at the pawns for nothing.
Maybe the Thunderbird copies I saw in London were DeArmonds... I think that was
it.
