Mike F. has already related his opinion of modeling amps to me in no
uncertain terms. (He's with Dave & Ron.) But I'd *still* like to try
one. I don't really care one way or the other whether or not they sound
like what they claim to be; I'd be more interested in whether I liked
what those sounds *are* in and of themselves. Would I like those sounds
or not? I have no idea!

My problem is that I can't really go to Guitar Center (or wherever) and
try them, unless I want to lug my Yamaha YC-20 (or the heavier YC-30)
combo organ along with me. (Thanks, but bringing it out on gigs is
rough enough.) I *could* bring a lighter organ (like the Wurlitzer
7300), but I want to check these things out with what I'm likely to be
playing. (And for those of you who know I also have Farfisa and Vox
organs, the answer is, "Yes, I prefer the Yamaha combos.")

Dave's report on the reverb, however, may be enough to kill off my
thoughts about it. Right now, I play both organs through a beat-up
silver face Twin Reverb. And I *always* crank the reverb way up. Even
when I was playing through a solid state Peavey keyboard amp, I always
wanted the reverb up. Once I started playing through that Twin,
though... Yum!!! Yeah, you guys are VERY right about tube amps. I'm in
love with the way the organ sounds through it. I actually *do* have
another beat-up silver face Twin, however, which I'm not as into... It
distorts too easily. That's fine by you guitarists, I know, but not
*me*! I also recently picked up a Music Man 212 130 that I like. It's
better than the one Twin, but not as good as the other (for what I'm doing.)

The only other amp I have that I really *love* to play through - and I
really only like playing the YC-30 through it, not the YC-20 - is an
Acoustic 160 tube head through an Acoustic 464 cabinet.
