Not really. Hit Parader, at least back then, cover-dated their issues several months ahead. Most magazines do, but in the case of HP, it was really drastic. Roughly
speaking, if a Hit Parader issue was dated Feb. '68, then the content was probably from the summer and came out in the fall.
I figured this out when I found an issue from spring '71 and thought "wow, Hendrix died in the fall of '70, why are they STILL dwelling on his death in the letters section? And the albums in the record review section are all from six or seven months before"...and then I saw a blurb for the next issue that would be on the stands in October or November or something like that. Didn't take long to do the math...
