I've read that he wasn't kicked off, but rather given the option to bail if
it didn't work out. I think Peter Tork was instrumental in getting him on
the tour... or at least that's my fuzzy memory.

There was show booked in San Jose, but someone got sick, and the gig was
canceled.

I don't think I was planning to go.

Glad I did get to see Hendrix once,
