You said in a previous post that "Someone out there actually liked "Walk
The Line" (presumably someone with little knowledge of Johnny Cash)". I
thought you were talking about the historical accuracy. I guess I
misinterpreted what you meant.

When I heard a Cash biopic was going to be made, I was thinking that it
would be very tough for *anyone* to portray Cash. Phoenix's performance
might not have convinced me 100%, but I think I thought he did a decent
job, considering. Maybe if Phoenix lip synced like Jamie Foxx did in
"Ray" he would have been more believable. I dunno.

>the best performance in "Walk
>The Line" was Waylon Payne as Jerry Lee Lewis.

I couldn't disagree with you more on that.

There were folks on both sides of the fence as I recall, at least about
CCR. This is kicking a dead thread but what the hell, I didn't have time
when it was active... I'll just say I think each and every one of their
records has at least some merit. Hell, I'll even stick up for Mardi Gras.
Some real duds on that LP for sure but "Looking for a Reason" and Doug
Clifford's "Tearing Up the Country" are a couple of my favorites from that
era. Cheesy country-ish stuff - I dig it.
