Stone said that his point in making the film was to open up a national dialogue about what "really" happened - not just w/ JFK but Vietnam, etc. He really is a master of conspiracy theory. And yeah, Candy (and Pesci, Tommy Lee Jones, Asner, Donald Sutherland and Kevin Bacon) were all pretty great. Unfortunately, I think a lot of people saw it as a kind of documentary which speaks volumes about just how dumb this country can be sometimes...
