The new issue is up and Ross Buncle of The Geeks - who might just have been
the first punk outfit on the Perth, Western Australia, scene - speaks up to
solve a minor mystery.
We hear about the righting of a wrong, 30 years on, and The Geeks drummer,
an influential bloke named James Baker (future Hoodoo Gurus/Beasts of
Bourbon) in a look back on '70s punk in the world's most isolated capital
city.
Don't forget our interviews with Dave Thomas (Bored!/Tiger By The Tail) and
Ross Knight (Cosmic Psychos). Tiger By The Tail are off to Europe later this
year and the Psychos are unleashing their first album in nine years.
Live, TJ Honeysuckle takes in The Drones, The Double Agents and Tiger By The
Tail at the Tote.
Plus there are the usual disc reviews for releases by Mott the Hoople
(remastered re-issues), the Cosmic Psychos, The Geeks (and their spin-offs
The Hitler Youth and The Orphans), England's The Stabilisers, Wollongong's
Hytest and heaps of others.
News also on the forthcoming Radio Birdman studio album and world tour
(first dates), a stunning Purple Hearts CD compile due out any day now and
the reformation of the New Christs for a European tour (and Australian
warm-up show).
