Re: [bomp] beatles

That would be amazing. I've never bought a Beatles CD, perhaps because
I'm young enough to have known that when I started buying CD's (around
1998 when the cool Byrds reissues were coming out) that the Beatles
CD's were inferior jobs done in the early days of CD. I assumed,
perhaps naively, that remastered and deluxe packages of the UK albums
would be on the shelves shortly. I've gotten by borrowing friends CD's
and of course the old vinyl.

Even if the reissues were just mono with outtakes that haven't been on
the Anthology (and some of those too if they were recorded at the same
sessions) I'd be happy.

i'm intrigued by aspinall's casual mention of a remastering
project...hopefully
this means we'll eventually see remastered beatles CDs without the 1987
bargain-basement packaging. in the best of all possible worlds, these
discs
would include the mono and stereo mixes of all LPs to 1968, plus bonus
cuts,
but i am not holding my breath.

i love the spokesperson's comment. "there are no firm dates as yet."
yeah, no
kidding. are there EVER firm dates at apple???
