For Immediate Release: LYRES w/ The Relatives: "Real Rock & Roll" Plus A
Tribute To It-- LIVE @ Forum Lounge 6/10

-LYRES turn the kingsmen's classic "louie louie" inside out and kick it home
with killer vox-continental (60's organ) ribbon and lacing. sounds like the
sonics meets ? and the mysterians (96 tears) and unique w/ super guitars tres
tremolo. most LYRES' songs are original--underground garage classix--a kinks
cover or new colony six tune aside...rolling stone mag gave LYRES' LP "On
Fyre" 4 stars back in 1984. today some online sites give "On Fyre" 4 stars
plus!

from bklyn to amsterdam LYRES keep packing 'em in. these vintage rock
veterans will make you shake some ass and head. come to this rare area appearance.
if u would like an mp3 of lyres' "help you ann" (1 song) sent to u free to
see if u like LYRES too, please write back to me now. "help you ann" has been
featured on numerous compilations including the recent "Children of Nuggets"
box set released by Rhino/WMG.

-The Relatives are a local rock & roll cover band. FYI: playing covers has
been an aspect of the garage genre since the dawn of 4/4 time--think of the
beatles doing chuck berry's "roll over beethoven".

The Relatives pull off and carry rock & roll classics from the late
60's-80's: Iggy and The Stooges ("Search and Destroy"); Bowie ("Queen Bitch"); Billy
Idol ("White Wedding"); Talking Heads '77 ("Psycho Killer") and more-- all
w/flair and respect. The Relatives pay homage to the best of a genre--renegade
rock. The Relatives lineup includes 2 guitar players: New World's Chef Ric
and masterful front man John Gullo--guaranteed to make you smile if not lol
and dance.

-Glenn O'Brien's TV Party: the premiere episode w/excerpts from other
episodes features: Debbie Harry; Chris Stein; Jean-Michel Basquiat; Fab 5 Freddy
and more. People used to smoke joints live on-air in this ancient (late '70's)
NYC cable favorite. Visit _www.brinkfilms.com_ (http://www.brinkfilms.com/)
for more info about "TV Party"

-Jim C. Light Show: aka James Cornwell specializes in turning space and live
performances into trans-dimensional happenings. Color and light
projections/original kinetic paintings come thru a G5 and work with the musicians' moving
forms. Jim C. makes art nuevo/ NO STATIC.

ALL THIS FOR $8? YES!!!

*****SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL LIVE MUSIC SCENE: FORUM LOUNGE IS OWNED BY THE
YOUNGEST BAR OWNER IN AMERICA; SHE IS GOOD TO BANDS, ARTISTS AND PROMOTERS BY
PROVIDING GUARANTEES ($) NOT DOOR DEALS/RENTAL SITUATIONS (IE THE VASTLY POPULAR
NEW DEAL BAR/VENUE OWNERS GIVE TO BANDS IS A 'PAY TO PLAY' SCENARIO <it is
now common that bands and performers must pay venue operators to use their
stage, sometimes inefficient sound systems and door people-- or even must pay 4:
load in, soundcheck, posters etc.-- standard gig support/supplies stuff that
clubs used to provide are now a "band expense". in most sitches musicians
only receive a low percentage of the door. this is a terrible system and
everyone is suffering in it even the bar owners themselves) THIS NEW DEAL CLEARLY
PIMPS MUSICIANS AND BRINGS THE WHOLE SCENE DOWN)

please attend this show and forward this PR to show your support for a
better way... also it's really a good double bill.

BTW: Billboard magazine now features a "Garage chart" so all this garage gab
is more than just in your head.

Love it. Live it. Go!
