Never said it was an alternative but I would rather hear any of that any day
than overblown horseshit like Oasis. And there is no way I would ever EVER
fucking agree that anything by Oasis is a masterpiece (the album that I'm
listening to now, "Forever Changes" is a masterpiece). They annoy the shit
out of me. I hated that first album before I knew who or what it was, so
overhyping has nothing to do with my disdain for them. That voice is so
grating... Thankfully, there is no way in hell that within any circle I
travel will I have to hear them for more than a few seconds (I cut through
HMV to get to the grocery store, the pharmacy, and sometimes the subway and
in those few moments I may have to hear that caterwauling). I find them the
musical equivalent of fingernails on a chalkboard.
